Alyssa Canning,
RMT, Breast Care Practitioner, Clinic Owner

I began my career in 2014, after graduating from WCCMT in New Westminster. Over the years I have been inspired by massage not only in the healing of injury and relief of pain but in the passive facilitation of transformation and empowerment over one's own self.

My practice began with deep tissue and fascial release, eventually incorporating yoga, breathing exercises meditation, and grounding techniques. My training with Mastectomy Guide prompted me to dive deeper into my anatomy knowledge and incorporate more gentle modalities, with a focus on the calming of the nervous system to create the right atmosphere for appropriate intervention.

These more subtle techniques include Lymph Drainage (the gentle “helping” of lymph vessels to allow proper flow of lymph in congested tissues) and Cranial-Fascial Therapy (a gentle, subtle manipulation of cranial bones, connective tissue, and housing of our spinal canal to restore balance to the structures surrounding our nervous system).

I find my balance with creating, travel, music, yoga, roller-skating, and motorcycling, and can often be found walking and exploring the local trails and forests.

Alyssa is currently part of the Mastectomy Guide's 6 month Mentorship and Training program and is offering therapeutic breast/chest massage with focus on mastectomy and reconstruction, elective breast surgeries and gender-affirming top surgeries free of charge. *ICBC claims will be processed upon certification

Scott Rosner graduated from Vancouver Career College in January 2024. He is passionate about helping people achieve their health and wellness goals through massage therapy. Whether you are recovering from an injury, dealing with chronic pain, or simply looking to relax and de-stress, he can tailor a massage treatment plan to meet your individual needs.

Scott uses a variety of techniques in his practice, including myofascial release, deep tissue, Swedish techniques, joint mobilizations, sports massage, and muscle energy techniques. He has performed well in the student clinic at the campus as well as having experience in out reaches such as City Center Care and attended the Canucks for Autism Sports Weekend.

He has a wide range of experience with many conditions and confidence with many modalities, to provide effective, appropriate treatment for all ages.

Scott tried many jobs and careers before massage, from fast food to life-guarding, to working in snow removal for a copper mine. In his twenties he struggled with alcoholism and addiction. He was able to sober up and began life anew as a sandblaster for a powder coating company. When a workplace accident left him missing a couple of toes on his left foot, he decided to seek out a new career path. After his recovery and experience with health care he decided to become a registered massage therapist.

When Scott is not in the clinic, he enjoys spending time outdoors snowboarding, snowmobiling, and hiking. He also enjoys fish keeping and anime. He is enthusiastic and has a willingness to learn so that he may provide the best care possible to his clients.

I have been seeing Alyssa @ Balanced Health Wellness Centre for more than 6 years now. I have multiple back/neck issues due to desk work for over 20 years. Alyssa has always worked with me to get me in when I need her, as well as giving me exactly the treatment I need each week to keep me upright and mobile! I literally do not function well without her customized treatments each week. The space is clean, staff very professional, highly recommend!
